How to build a brand that actually gets attention

How to build a brand that actually gets attention
How to build a brand that actually gets attention

You either make money or you lose it. Put an algorithm and human curiosity in the same room and you get enough energy to power a small town. The Meet&Deal COMMUNITY called another learning session, and this time we took social media apart screw by screw. No fluff, no buzzwords, just what actually works.

Who ran the session

Eliška Jana Auer of Aurora agency

Eliška Jana Auer of Aurora agency. Why her? Because she knows social media and influencers inside out. Not just pretty posts, but processes, measurement and production. She's been an influencer herself for six years, so she knows the game from both sides. We don't need people who tell you what's in the textbook. We need people who tell you what really works and why.

Who was in the room

Participants of the Meet&Deal COMMUNITY branding session

A mixed group from Livesport, Mixit, Effectix, SleepKing and office to go. Twenty people max, which means everyone gets to speak, you can ask about your own situation and you get to the point fast. The energy of a room full of people who care about what they do is contagious.

An influencer isn't a billboard and going viral isn't a strategy

That landed in the first few minutes and it was a cold shower. The good kind. Eliška named something most of us suspect but few say out loud: brands want a recipe for going viral.

But viral isn't the goal. It's a by-product.

The real foundation is consistent content built on solid pillars: brand, trust, education, inspiration, entertainment. Same goes for influencers. They're not ad space, and picking one by follower count is a trap.

Influencer scoring checklist

How to pick a partner you can do a deal with, not just run a campaign with:

  • Brand fit: Do your values line up? Do they speak the same language as your audience?
  • Audience quality: How many of those followers are real people who actually engage?
  • Track record: What results have they delivered in past collaborations?
  • Authenticity: Micro-influencers often beat mega stars on authenticity.
  • Longevity: One story won't cut it. Quarterly collaborations are where it starts to work.

Organic is fine, but without boosting you're playing with one hand tied

The next punch landed when Eliška said it plainly: at her agency, they don't publish a single client post without paid support behind it.

That's not admitting defeat. That's strategy.

Algorithms limit organic reach and you have to plan around it. We also dug into how to get more out of a collaboration than an unboxing on someone's couch. We covered two-way campaigns, connecting online and offline: content houses, festivals, fan meetups. When the agency takes over production, it saves the influencer time and saves you money, and you end up with content that has emotion and substance.

Your audience isn't an age bracket and a postcode. It's a mindset and a behaviour.

Eliška Jana Auer explaining audience work

This is where it got liveliest. Instead of demographics, we went deeper: pain points, objections, needs, motivations, interests.

Suddenly "woman, 25 to 44" becomes the Deal Hunter (wants comparisons and the feeling of a smart purchase) or the Premium Indulger (wants a story and an emotion). And you immediately know what to serve each of them. A comparison carousel for one, a limited edition unboxing for the other.

It stops being a shot in the dark and starts being a bullseye.

A framework for audience work

Try answering these five questions about your audience:

  1. What's their pain point? What bothers them, what are they dealing with daily?
  2. What are their objections? Why wouldn't they buy your product?
  3. What motivates them? Price, prestige, convenience, feeling special?
  4. What are they into? Where do they go, what do they follow, what fills their free time?
  5. How do they behave online? Do they scroll or read? Comment or just like?

Once you're clear on this, the content almost writes itself.

Five content pillars that work

Eliška broke down the structure every strong strategy stands on:

  1. Brand: Who you are and why you're here at all.
  2. Trust: Testimonials, behind the scenes, transparency.
  3. Education: Teach people something new that helps them.
  4. Inspiration: Show them what's possible and where they could go.
  5. Entertainment: If it isn't enjoyable, nobody finishes reading it.

Get all five in balance and you're making content people follow by choice.

The production process, start to finish

What the road from idea to the number in your report looks like:

  • Goal: What are you trying to achieve? (sales, awareness, engagement)
  • Topic: What are you going to talk about?
  • Concept: How will you frame it? (humour, emotion, facts)
  • Format: Video, carousel, story, reel?
  • Production: Who shoots it, edits it, writes it?
  • Execution: Publish plus boost.
  • Reporting: What did it bring in? Where can it improve?

Without a process it's chaos. With a process it's a business.

What people walked away with

Meet&Deal COMMUNITY, are you serious about your business?

Small group, big impact. That's exactly what a COMMUNITY learning session should look like.

Participants left with:

  • Five content pillars to hold their communication together.
  • An influencer scoring checklist for picking partners worth having.
  • A framework for working with audiences that actually respond.
  • A production process, start to finish, that saves time and money.
  • A quarterly plan for influencers and an understanding of why long-term collaborations matter.
  • A mindset shift: authenticity isn't perfection, and boosting is part of the strategy, not a failure.

It clicked again

These are exactly the sessions we built the Meet&Deal COMMUNITY for. No small talk, just real business, real problems and real solutions.
